Operational Leadership - Welcome

In 2006, the Bensley-Bermuda Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to calls for help nearly 5,000 times. As Chief Operations Officer for the Squad, each time an ambulance, a quick response vehicle or the rescue truck responds to a request for service, I am responsible for the service provided, the treatment rendered and the professionalism delivered by the Squad.

Every member of the Squad is committed to providing excellent service to the community, and shows their commitment by volunteering hundreds of hours each year in support of the Squad's mission.

I am supported in this mission by three key people, each responsible to me for staffing and all aspects of service during specific times. Our shifts are broken into Day (0600 to 1800) and Night (1800 to 0600), and the Squad further divides our operations into weekday and weekend.

My Day Operations Officer, Chuck Mayle, is responsible for the 0600-1800 shifts Monday through Friday. My Night Operations Officer, Krystal Gray, is responsible for the Night shifts during that same period. Weekends, both Day and Night shifts, are overseen by my Weekend Operations Officer, Dana Love.

Each of these officers, along with the Captains that staff and manage specific shifts, and every one of the more than 120 members of the Squad are constantly looking at ways to provide better, faster, safer care and to improve our level of service to you.

If you wish to praise any of the members or want to express concerns, please contact me. I can be reached at (804) 748-6122.

Sincerely,

Barry Drumheller, Chief Operations Officer
Bensley-Bermuda Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc.
